Coconut oil is a superior moisturizer and the fractionated coconut oil, also called “liquid coconut oil,” is a form of the oil that has had the long-chain fatty acids removed via steam distillation. The lauric acid and other long-chain fatty acids are removed and it contains the capric, caprylic, myristic and palmitic acids, all of which retain their super-moisturizing capabilities.
